Work With Me (Editing and Writing Services)
Editing and Writing Services
Note From Cameron on Editing and Writing Services:
I have always advocated that writing and the process of telling a story are inherently collaborative. I’ve written about it here on my blog, stating that no matter who we are and what our process is, there will always be the reader. Editing, revisions, writing, and publication all involve an audience, a reader, a critique partner, and someone there to consume and formulate an opinion on your product. What I hope to offer, whatever service you might be considering, is first and foremost a reader. Whether you hire me as a writer or as an editor, I will approach each project with the reader’s perspective in mind.
I look forward to hearing from you. Below there is a lot of information, and if it is too much to go through, consider sending me a message on the Write Me page so that I can asses how best to help you.
Book Editing and Manuscript Editing:
1. Book Editing and Manuscript Critique
Have you finished writing a book, novel, or short story? Are you stuck, unsure about your concept, or want part of it to be reviewed?
When you request a manuscript critique, I will take an all-encompassing look at your work, seeing what you’re doing well and what might need to be improved. In my manuscript critiques, I take into consideration your voice as well as the five elements of fiction (POV, Plot, Setting, Character, and Theme).
Still, aren’t sure and want to get a feel for my editing and critique style? Reach out in the Write Me section and request a discounted sample review!

2. Proofreading or Beta Reading
Is your manuscript, book, or short story done and need another set of eyes? When you ask me to proofread your work I will provide my thoughts, feelings, and opinions. Similar to the Manuscript Editing and Critique, you will receive a literary review and my overall thoughts on your work. This sort of service typically won’t take as long as a full Manuscript Critique but will not go into as much depth. Consider reaching out on the Write Me page for more details and information.
All the best athletes, musicians, and industry professionals have a coach. If you’re unsure about your writing or the project you’re on, perhaps an outside perspective is what you need to get you back on the right path. A writer’s journey is not a smooth one and doesn’t need to be done alone. Write Me, and let’s see how we can help you tell your best story.
The opening lines and first chapter are among the most important to your story. It is what is going to hook your reader and set the stage for the rest of the book. Often times a great editor can review those first pages and get a strong idea of what is working and what isn’t working for the rest of your story.
The First Pages Critique is a good way for us to see how well I might be able to work with you and if you want to work with me! Consider reaching out on the Write Me page and let’s see how I can help.
